STR Assistance Review
A UK-registered, remotely staffed virtual-assistant agency that handles guest messaging and back-office admin for US short-term rentals — but coordinates rather than performs the on-site work, and publishes no pricing.
Pros
- Broad remote service menu for one relationship: 24/7 guest messaging, dynamic pricing, listing optimization, calendar syncing across Airbnb/Vrbo/Booking.com, dispute and damage-claim handling, and guest screening are all bundled, per its own service pages
- Publishes a named team rather than hiding behind an anonymous "our team" page — ten individual staff bio pages are live on the site, each tied to a specific specialty such as guest communication, cleaning coordination, or disputes
- Pay-for-what-you-use positioning: its co-host page describes a "flexible subscription model" rather than one rigid package, and it also sells pure à-la-carte services like standalone review-removal or dynamic-pricing help
- Claims meaningful scale for a remote VA operator — "50+ Virtual Assistants" and "800+ Property Managed" on its own about page — a larger footprint than some other remote co-host agencies we've reviewed
- Aggressive published response-time targets (as fast as 1–5 minutes, depending on the page) and 24/7 coverage across multiple channels and time zones
Cons
- No price list anywhere on the site — not on the homepage, the service pages, or a dedicated pricing page, because none exists in the site's own sitemap; the only dollar figures on the whole domain are $11–$98 digital templates on an unrelated /products/ page. You only get a number after booking a consultation
- No US presence: the registered address is in Bury St. Edmunds, England, and the only phone-equivalent contact listed is a WhatsApp number with a Bangladesh (+880) country code; cleaning and maintenance aren't performed by STR Assistance staff — its own co-host page says they "find you local, trusted cleaners" on the owner's behalf
- No founding year or founder name disclosed anywhere on the site, including the About page; the only datable fact we could find is a staff bio noting "member since June 15, 2023," which is not the same as a verified company founding date
- No Better Business Bureau profile — a direct bbb.org search for "STR Assistance" returned zero results — and its Trustpilot listing, which does exist, blocked our fetch with a 403 error, so we could not independently confirm its review rating
- As a virtual-assistant/co-host service rather than a full-service manager, the owner still has to personally source, vet, and manage cleaners and maintenance contractors — STR Assistance coordinates schedules but doesn't supply its own on-site crews
STR Assistance is a remote virtual-assistant and co-hosting service for short-term rental owners. The company is registered at an address in Bury St. Edmunds, England, and describes itself on its own site as "an independent STR virtual assistant company with no affiliation with Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, or any vacation rental platform." It does not manage properties in person; instead, a team of virtual assistants handles guest messaging, bookings, pricing, and back-office work remotely for owners anywhere, including the US. Its homepage claims "50+ Virtual Assistants," "800+ Property Managed," and "50K+ Guest Conversations."
How it works for owners
Per its own service pages, STR Assistance covers 24/7 guest communication (reply times are advertised as "5 minutes" on one page and "1 minutes" on another), listing optimization, daily dynamic-pricing adjustments, calendar syncing across Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com and other channels, cleaning-schedule coordination, dispute and damage-claim handling, guest screening, and add-ons like SEO, social media, and bookkeeping support. Onboarding runs in three steps: an initial consultation, a review of your existing listings and workflows, and then a VA is assigned to your account. On the co-hosting side, the company is explicit that it coordinates rather than employs on-site labor — its co-host page says a co-host "can find you local, trusted cleaners, schedule timing, and coordinate for hassle-free turnovers," meaning the actual cleaning and maintenance crews are sourced locally, not staffed by STR Assistance itself. Pricing is described only as a "flexible subscription model [that] ensures you only pay for the services you need," with no dollar figures anywhere — you get a number after booking a consultation.
What we could verify
The team looks real: STR Assistance publishes individual bio pages for ten named staff members instead of an anonymous "our team" blurb, which is more transparency than several other remote VA agencies we've reviewed. One of those bios, for a guest-communication specialist, lists a start date of June 15, 2023 and a track record across "300+" managed listings — the only independently datable fact we could find anywhere on the site, since the about page discloses no founding year and no founder name. We also confirmed directly, via the site's own XML sitemap, that no dedicated pricing page exists anywhere in its structure; the only dollar figures on the entire domain are five unrelated digital downloads (an "Airbnb Host Essentials Toolkit" and similar templates, $11–$98) sold on a separate /products/ store, not the management service itself. On the contact side, the registered address is in England, but the only phone-equivalent contact listed on the contact page is a WhatsApp number with a Bangladesh (+880) country code — consistent with a UK-registered company whose staff operate out of Bangladesh, and confirming it has no US office or entity of any kind. We searched bbb.org directly for "STR Assistance" and it returned zero results — no BBB profile exists for this company. A Trustpilot page for the domain does exist, but it returned an HTTP 403 error when we tried to fetch it, so we could not independently read or verify its rating ourselves; treat any Trustpilot score you see cited elsewhere as unverified by us.
How it compares to our top pick
STR Assistance is a messaging-and-admin layer, not a full-service US manager — it has no employees or offices in the United States, and by its own description it coordinates rather than performs cleaning and maintenance. That can be a reasonable, lower-cost add-on for an owner who already has reliable local vendors lined up and just wants the guest-facing workload off their plate. It's not a substitute for an owner-first, full-service manager. One Fine BnB is US-based with transparent terms and full-service, on-the-ground coverage — see the full field in our best Airbnb management companies ranking.
Bottom line
STR Assistance runs a genuinely broad, named-team virtual-assistant operation at a claimed scale — 50+ VAs, 800+ properties — that's larger than some of the other remote co-host agencies we've reviewed. But it publishes no pricing, no founding date, no BBB profile, and has no US presence of any kind; even its own phone contact traces to Bangladesh, not the UK address on its letterhead. If you already have cleaning and maintenance covered locally and just want a remote team for messaging and admin, it's worth a consultation call to get an actual quote. If you're looking for an on-the-ground US property manager, this isn't that — and it's fair to ask whether a UK-registered, remotely staffed VA agency belongs on a shortlist of US management companies in the first place.
